New to Blackboard? Not sure where to go or what to do next?

Do you have questions about usernames and passwords? Then you're in the right place. Read on! You may wish to print these instructions out for your reference.
 


Step One:
Before you use Blackboard, you should activate your UAF email account. If you have not yet done so, then you can use the online E-mail Account Lookup Form to look up and active your UAF email account. Blackboard gets populated with email addresses for teachers and students in every class, and uses this email address to direct mail to.

Not sure if you've activated your email account? Can you send and receive email at a @uaf.edu email address? If so, then you've probably activated your account. However, if you have problems with your email or email questions, then call the Office of Information Technology Help Desk at 474.6564 or 1.800.478.4667 or email fxhelp@uaf.edu.

Step Two:
To login to Blackboard, you'll need your UA Username and student ID (UA ID). Your Blackboard Username is the same as your UA Username (e.g., jzjohnson). If this is your first time using Blackboard, then your password is your student ID number appended with a capital "U" (e.g., 31234567U). You can look up your UA Username and student ID here, then you can go back to http://classes.uaf.edu/, click on the "Login" button, enter your Username and Password, and click the "Login" button there.

If you cannot log in using these procedures, then you may need to set a new password for your Blackboard account. To do so, click the "Forgot your password?" link on the Blackboard login page, or follow this link. You must provide your UA Username or UAF email address, and then check your UAF email account for the instructions that will be sent to you. Please note: The system will not respond to non-UA email addresses! This is why it is so important for you to have access to your UAF email account.
